Sarah Misir, Jamaican National Equestrian TeamSara Misir, a fifteen-year-old member of the Jamaican National Equestrian Team started riding when she was 4 years old.

She has spent 11 years training locally with Coach Susan Wates as well as attending special clinics in Colombia and Italy. At 15 years old, she is Jamaica's top female competitor competing in jumping and dressage. Apart from local competitions, Ms. Misir has competed in Guatemala, Chile, Ecuador, Cayman, Barbados, Colombia and Trinidad, always placing in the top 10. In September 2012, this budding equestrienne star was invited to represent Jamaica in the Club Campestre Guaymaral International-Colombia, Bogota, against 38 countries and again in February she competed at the Convocatoria Guatemala International tournament, competing in the adult class jumping at 1.25m against entrants from South America, the Caribbean and Europe.

Ms. Misir has won the Jamaican show jumping championship for three consecutive years for various heights and ages, and last year won for the 1.25m class - the Grand Prix for adults. She has been selected to qualify for the youth Olympics in 2014 and has her eyes set on the 2020 Olympic Games, following in the footsteps of Samantha Albert, Jamaica's first Olympic Equestrienne, who placed 51st in the 2012 Olympic held in England.
